UNDER-10 TRAVEL AND IN-HOUSE
TEAMS
The U-10 travel team program is intended to be an
introduction to a higher level of competition for the children involved. The primary focus is to develop playing
skills and for the players to have fun.
Winning is a secondary issue.
All travel team players shall be selected in accordance with
club procedures. Monroeville
residents shall have first priority in placement upon a U-10 team. MSC Coaches shall not recruit players
from outside the geographic boundaries of the Monroeville Soccer Club.
U-10 teams shall adhere to the Rules adopted by PA West
Soccer Association, effective Sep. 1, 1992, as follows:
- No
player or team of U-6, U-7, U-8, or U-9 shall be permitted to Travel.
- All
games will be conducted under the USYSA Modified Playing Rules for U-10s.
- All
PA West Procedural rules shall be followed.
- No
league standings will be kept.
This will be no championship games or playoffs.
- Sponsoring
clubs shall insure that each player plays at least half of every game.
- All
teams will be required to have smaller goal posts that comply with USYSA
Modified rules (max. 7 feet high x 7 yards wide).
- No
U-10 team or player rostered on an U-10 team, or U-10 In-house player, will
be permitted to travel out of PA West.
- Each
playing division may choose to offer U-10 Travel provided said Playing
Division has a minimum of 4 teams to form a league. All U-10 teams will be restricted
to play in the district in
which the club resides.
- The
only tournament In-house U-10 or younger teams or players may attend is
the State hosted America Cup Tournament.
- The
only tournament’s U-10 travel teams or players may attend are PA West
sponsored and approved tournaments using USYSA Modified Playing Rules.
- All
U-10 players and younger may not play up in age effective Fall 1992 with
the exception of those who have proof of prior travel.
- A
maximum of three (3) players who reside outside the geographic boundaries
of the sponsoring club will be permitted. “Cohen Decision:
